I’m starting an exciting build battle challenge (slides below) with my students, where they will get the opportunity to research, design, and build structures from ancient Athens using Minecraft. (more information, here)

Working as a team, students will first delve into the history of this ancient civilization, researching structures such as the Parthenon, the Agora, and more. With this knowledge in hand, they will then use Minecraft to bring their designs to life, creating a virtual museum showcasing their research.
I’m hoping there are other grade 6 classes that might join us in this build battle challenge and evaluate each other’s virtual museums. My students would love to have their work evaluated by peers as they learn from their successes and challenges…
The attached slides provide all the information you need to get started (if you’re interested), including a timeline, guidelines, a rubric, etc. for the project… I think other teachers could also make the learning better, so I’d love to see how you improve it! So if anyone is up for it, let me know – it could be fun!
